Monica Jordan opened her eyes as the sunlight streamed through the windows. She felt the warmth of the hard body lying next to her and smiled. It wasn't a dream. For the past week she felt as if she were living a fantasy. Ever since meeting billionaire Gabe Stark on a blind date, her life had completely changed. He was like no other man she had met. He wined and dined her and swept her off her feet. Since their first date, they were inseparable. She spent every night at his house and woke up with him every morning. Monica still couldn’t believe her luck in finding a guy like him. She seriously felt she was in danger of falling in love with him. It wasn't her style to go head over heels in such a short time, but Gabe made it all too easy. She was still a bit insecure and wasn’t sure what he saw in her. It wasn't like she was a stick thin supermodel. In fact, she was a bit curvier and fuller figured than most girls, but Gabe loved that about her. And every night he showed her exactly how desirable she was to him.

Monica repressed shivers as she remembered their lovemaking the night before. Gabe had explored and worshipped her body all night. She got wet just thinking about it. Looking down at his sleeping form, she couldn't resist touching him. He looked so peaceful and handsome lying there with the stubble growing on his chin and his messy bed head. His chest rose and fell softly as he slept and she traced her fingers lightly over his chest hair, feeling the hard muscles underneath. Gabe stirred as her hand went from his chest down his ripped abs. Opening his eyes, he gave her a sleepy smile.

"Hello beautiful," Gabe said, smiling. "This is a pleasant way to wake up in the morning."

"I was just thinking the same thing," Monica replied. "I could get used waking up with a handsome naked man lying next to me."

"Oh, I'm going to do more than just lying," Gabe replied as he rolled Monica over on her back and pinned her body down with his. He kissed her lightly on her temples, working his way down her face and neck, nibbling her skin along the way. His tongue stroked the hollow of her neck and Monica moaned as it tickled her skin.

"Gabe," Monica panted as she ran her hands through his thick wavy hair.

"Yes?" he asked, quirking an eyebrow at her.

  "Please," she begged him.

  "Please what?" he asked, teasingly.

"You know what I want," she replied.

"I love it when you beg me to fuck you," he told her. "I want you to say it."

"Please fuck me," Monica replied, desperate with desire.

"Mmm," Gabe moaned, "My three favorite words."

He brought his head down and devoured her with hot urgent kisses. Monica arched her back bringing her chest towards him as she responded to his passion. She didn't want to wait. She wanted to feel him in her; her body was aching with desire. Gabe knelt between her legs and spread them at the knees. He traced his fingers from her thighs all the way to her ankles as he spread her legs apart. Lining his member at her entrance he rubbed the tip against her wetness, bringing a cry of pleasure from Monica.

"Oh Gabe, I need you," she said breathlessly.

Gabe drew back and plunged his throbbing cock in to Monica’s warm and ready slit. She gasped as she felt him fill her to the hilt. The sensation was enough to drive her close to her breaking point. She wanted him hard and fast. She wrapped her legs around his waist and arched her hips up, meeting his strokes with her own powerful thrusts. Gabe responded immediately, and plunged into her furiously. This was no love making, it was a hard and steady fucking, and Monica loved it. She loved how he could spend hours making love to her the night before, exploring every part of her body, and this morning, fuck the living daylights out of her like some hot horny beast.

Monica closed her eyes, losing herself to the sensations of him filling her; she was on the verge of an explosion. When she felt his fingers rubbing her clit, she couldn't hold back any longer. She unleashed a loud primal cry, as she reached her climax. She instinctively clenched his throbbing member as he brought her to completion. Her juices flowed out, lubricating him as the sticky sound of sex echoed around the room. Gabe's grunting became louder and he thrust harder and faster as Monica felt him clench his ass cheeks before his own climax. He exploded inside of her, filling her with his seed. Monica continued to clamp down on him, sucking every last drop from him.

His thrusts slowed as he brought his head down and rested his forehead against hers.

"Oh God, Monica," Gabe said between ragged breaths, "I don't think I can ever get enough of you."

He always knew the right words to say to make her feel beautiful and desirable. She reached up behind and brought his head down for a kiss. Monica put all her pent up feelings in that kiss, and hoped it was enough to show him how much she cared about him. She wasn't ready to admit that she might be falling in love with him. That was moving too fast, and she didn't want to frighten him away. But she wanted to show him the strength of her feelings. She had never met a guy who treated her as well as Gabe. Even though it had only been a week, she knew deep down that he was someone she could spend the rest of her life with.

As they broke apart, Gabe lay down beside Monica, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her closer to him. She snuggled into his chest, and released a contented sigh.

"I was thinking," Gabe said a moment later as Monica began to drift back to sleep, "what are your plans this weekend?"

"I didn't have anything planned," Monica replied sleepily. "Why do you ask?"

"Do you remember Christy and Annabelle mentioning a charity ball?"

Monica did remember the two women who had interrupted their first date. They were rich, beautiful, and a couple of snobs who looked down their nose at her. They had pretended to be nice to her in front of Gabe, but she could tell they thought she wasn't in their league.

"Hmm it sounds familiar," Monica replied moderately.

"What if you were to go to the ball with me?" Gabe asked.

"You want me to go to a ball with you?" Monica asked surprised.

"Yes," Gabe answered. "Why not? I feel like we've been in our own little cocoon this past week.”

"I've liked being in our own little cocoon, just you and me," Monica said a little hurt.

"Don’t get me wrong,” Gabe said. “I've loved every moment of it too, but we can't stay like this forever. We've got to get back into the real world some time. Besides, I want to show you off to the world.”

"Oh Gabe, you're being ridiculous now," Monica said. "I'm sure there will be tons of other drop dead gorgeous women there.”

"Those other women don't hold a candle to you," Gabe told her. "You know I think you're the most beautiful woman in the world to me."

Monica blushed under his praise. Gabe made her feel so cherished and beautiful. She still wasn’t used to the idea that someone could like her just as she was--not 50 pounds lighter, not with a slimmer waist, not 10 years younger, not with a better job, but just as she was.

Even so, she was nervous about accepting the invitation.

“Are you sure you want to go with me?” she asked.

“Of course I’m sure. Why wouldn’t I want to go with you?” he replied earnestly.

“I don't know that I'd fit in with that crowd."

She had an idea the type of people that would be at the charity ball. If they were anything like Christy and Annabelle, she was in for a rough night.

“You have nothing to be worried about,” he reassured
her. “I’d love for you to come and meet some of my friends and business associates, but I don’t want to pressure you if you’re uncomfortable about it. Just think about it.”

"Thank you Gabe. I'd love to go with you to the ball," Monica answered. She was willing to do just about anything to make him happy, and if he wanted her to go to the ball, she would do it.

  "Great!" he replied enthusiastically.

"I'll need to go shopping though. I don't have anything remotely appropriate to wear for a ball," Monica realized.

"Don't worry about anything," Gabe answered. "I'll have my assistant send over some dresses for you to try."

"You don't have to do that Gabe," Monica said. “I didn’t mean for you to think I wanted you to buy my dress.”

"It's no trouble. I love spoiling you," he said simply as he kissed the top of her head.

Monica spent the rest of the day trying on dresses while Gabe went to work. His personal assistant, Molly, had been given Monica's measurements over the phone. She arrived 3 hours later laden with designer dresses. Monica had never seen, much less tried on so many expensive gowns before in all her life. Her salary as a secretary hardly left any money for frivolous purchases, and a $10,000 ball gown was definitely out of her price range. She was a little overwhelmed at Gabe's generosity.

"I never knew trying on ball gowns was such a process," Monica said after trying on her 5th dress.

When Monica got no response, she changed the subject.

"Thank you for getting these dresses for me at such short notice," she began. "I know it must have been a hassle for you.

"It's my job. It's not a hassle," Molly replied.

"You seem very competent at your job," Monica said.

  "Thank you."

"Do you do this often? I mean, get dresses and accessories for Gabe. I mean Mr. Stark," Monica asked.

"I do whatever is asked of me," Molly replied. "I don't delve into Mr. Stark's personal life."

"Oh right, I didn't mean to imply…that is, I'm not prying," Monica said, flustered.

"Mr. Stark has asked me to arrange for the hair dresser and makeup artist to come around noon tomorrow to do your make up. Is that acceptable to you?" Molly asked, ignoring Monica's remark.

"Oh yes, perfectly," Monica answered. "Noon is fine."

Monica was a little intimidated by Molly. Though she was clearly younger than Monica, she seemed calm and completely professional. All her attempts to lighten the mood were met with unrelenting professionalism. They spent the afternoon trying on the rest of the dresses. Monica hated how all the dresses she tried on either didn’t fit or was unflattering. She cringed at herself in the mirror as she tried on the latest concoction. It was a white chiffon gown that made her look like a fluffy marshmallow. She was getting tired and frustrated. It was a familiar feeling she got whenever she went shopping.

"It's no use," she said despondently. "Nothing looks good on me."

"We have one more dress here," Molly said, grabbing the last dress from the hanger. "If you don't like that one, I can go out and get more dresses delivered. We may also be able to alter any of the dresses here to suit you better if you prefer. However, we would have to decide quickly since the ball is tomorrow."

"Let's see this last dress," Monica responded warily.

Molly handed her the final dress--a silver Grecian inspired silk gown. It was a gorgeous one shoulder dress with a long sweeping skirt that draped down to the floor. The ruching at the shoulders and chest flattered her figure, and the narrowed waist was accented with a diamond brooch. Monica normally wouldn’t have picked the dress out for herself, but once she tried it on, she loved it. Looking in the mirror, she spun around, and around getting a good look at herself. She was pleasantly surprised that the dress hugged her figure in all the right places and accentuated her curves, while hiding her less flattering parts.

“This dress is beautiful,” Monica gushed.

“You look very nice,” Molly agreed. “Is this the dress you want to wear?”

  “Yes,” Monica replied.

“Great, I’ll have the other dresses sent back. Will you be needing any alterations on the dress?”

  “No, this dress is perfect.”

“Just as a reminder, I’ve booked the hairdresser and makeup artist to arrive at noon tomorrow,” Molly said, gathering up the discarded gowns.

“Ok, I’ll be ready,” Monica said, still looking at herself in the mirror.

“Good. It was nice meeting you, Ms. Jordan. I’ll be on my way now,” Molly said as she packed up the dresses and made her way out.

The day of the ball found Monica alone in her apartment. Gabe had to work late the night before, so she spent the last evening by herself. It was the first evening in a week that she didn’t spend with him. While she was disappointed, she also got to enjoy some quiet time to think. It amazed her to realize how much her life had changed in such a short span of time. Last week, she was a lonely spinster sitting at home alone. Now she was the girlfriend of a handsome billionaire wearing an expensive designer dress that cost more than a year’s rent on her apartment. She had just been waited on by her own personal makeup artist and hairdresser for her first ever charity ball. They had done an amazing job on her hair and makeup. She wasn’t sure it was her at first but for the familiar green eyes staring back at her in the mirror.

She was putting the final touches to her look when her doorbell rang. Monica clasped the diamond band on her wrist that Gabe had sent over earlier in the day, and went to the door. Gabe stood there looking as handsome as ever in his black tuxedo. He held a bouquet of flowers in his hands, but it was the look in his eyes that knocked the breath out of her.

“You look absolutely stunning, Monica,” he said eyeing her up and down. “I’ll be the envy of every guy there tonight.”

“Thank you Gabe. And thank you for the dress,” Monica added. “It was very generous of you.”

“Don’t mention it. I love to spoil you,” he replied.

“A girl could get used to this,” Monica joked.

“You should get used to it, because I have no intention of stopping,” he said.

Monica was slightly taken aback by Gabe’s declaration. Could it be that he felt the same way I do? she wondered.

“So...um...are you ready to go?” Monica asked a bit unsteadily.

“Yes,” Gabe answered as he draped her wrap over her shoulders and dropped light kisses there.

Monica shivered at his touch. She could feel herself getting aroused already, and wished she could spend the evening alone with him instead of going to the ball. But she straightened her shoulders and marched towards the door. If she gave in now, there was no way she would ever be convinced to go. Gabe seemed to sense it. Hiding a smirk, he grabbed her hand and led her out the door.

The ball was held at an exclusive club owned by Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rathsmussen that catered to the wealthy and connected. As they pulled past the iron wrought gates up the sweeping driveway, the building came into view. It was actually a mansion, built in the late 19th century for one of the titans of industry of the era. The long drive was lined by majestic oak trees. Lanterns hung from the trees giving it a magical appearance. The building itself was massive with stone pillars lining the front. The steps leading up to the house were buffeted on either side by two marble statues of stately lions. The large double doors were open with a stream of light pouring outside.

Monica rubbed her hands nervously as she exited the limo. She’d never been to a ball before. She never even went to her high school prom. She didn't know anyone there except Gabe. Well, technically she had met Christy and Annabelle briefly, but that wasn’t any more comforting to her. In fact, it made her even more nervous. If all the people there were anything like those two, she would have a miserable night. Monica could already feel the critical eyes judging her. Gritting her teeth, she banished those negative thoughts from her mind.
She would get through tonight for Gabe. He had asked her to go with him, and she would do everything in her power to make him proud. She wouldn’t let her insecurities ruin the best thing to happen in her life.

As Monica walked up the steps to the entrance, she saw the inside was as impressive and intimidating as the outside. The floors were of marble and the stone archways separated the rooms. On the walls hung artwork that Monica was sure cost more than her salary for ten lifetimes. Monica squeezed Gabe’s hand a little harder, her nerves creeping up on her again. At this ball were the crème de la crème of society, and Gabe was one of them. This was his circle, Monica kept reminding herself. She grabbed a glass of champagne from a passing waiter and gulped it down, hoping for a little liquid courage.

“Thirsty,” Gabe asked, quirking an eyebrow at her.

Before Monica could answer, they were greeted by a tall, elegantly dressed woman in an emerald green gown.

“Gabe, darling, I’m so glad you could make it,” she said kissing both his cheeks.

“Hello, Missy.” Gabe answered. “You look lovely this evening.”

“You’re too kind,” she cooed. “I had almost given up hope that you would make it this year.”

“I didn’t think I’d make it either, but had a change of heart,” Gabe said. “Missy, let me introduce you to my date,” he added turning to Monica.

“Oh how nice to meet you,” Missy said, giving Monica a quick once over. “I didn’t know you were coming with a date,” she added to Gabe.

“Well as you can see, I have. That’s not a problem I hope,” Gabe replied in a serious tone.

“Oh nonsense, Gabe,” Missy replied. “I wish I knew ahead of time, since Carla is here.”

At the mention of Carla’s name, Gabe’s face turned into a stone mask. His eyes scanned the room and Monica saw him clench his fists at his side.

“I hope that won’t be a problem for you,” Missy twittered as if she had a juicy scoop.

“Not a problem at all,” Gabe answered, calmly. “I thought my assistant had informed you of my bringing a date, but I see that was not the case.”
